Ambition, motivation, diligence, success – your profession says a lot about you, but could it make you a bad driver?

Car insurance provider 1st CENTRAL has named and shamed the occupations with the worst motoring track records in 2017, based on a study of 400,000 drivers in their privately owned vehicles.

Ranking the most accident-prone motorists according to their profession, financial advisors came top of the worst drivers Top 10, moving up from fourth position in 2016.

And it seems that doctors, dentists and pharmacists may be responsible when it comes to health and hygiene, but it’s a different story behind the wheel, as they all sit within the top five professions which have had the most accidents in 2017.

Perhaps proving that they have a steady hand behind the wheel as well as with a paintbrush, painters are amongst the most cautious drivers, leaping up the rankings of best drivers from 10th to first position.

In fact, painters are three times less likely than financial advisors to be involved in an accident, while chefs enter the list of safest drivers list for the first time in 2017.
