It feels as if Manchester United have always been viewed as one of the most formidable teams in the Premier League. The team have won the league thirteen times since 1992 and have always been considered a threat to any side that they face on the pitch. In 2012 their global recognition as a top English side caught the attention of American car brand Chevrolet who have since become the club’s shirt sponsor and official car partner. Manchester United’s Chevrolet connection got us thinking about which cars the team’s legendary players have owned. So we’ve put together this great little slideshow to show you. Have a browse to find out what cars memorable Red Devils have bought and been given over the years.
Wayne Rooney's BMW i8
Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney can often be seen driving around Manchester in his BMW i8 which cost him £105,000. Rooney’s i8 is a four-seater plug-in hybrid sports car which can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds and has a rapid top speed of 155mph.
Coleen Rooney's Overfinch
Rooney also enjoys cruising about in his black Overfinch Range Rover. It was bought for the striker by his wife Coleen Rooney in 2012 for £100,000.
Rooney's Free Corvette
As Rooney and his team are sponsored by Chevrolet, they are given free vehicles by the car firm to drive to and from training sessions. Rooney has one of their Camaro Convertible models.

Marouane Fellaini's Rowdy Audi
Belgian Marouane Fellaini started playing for Man United in 2013. He’s also been seen cruising around the training grounds in his luxurious four-seater silver Audi A7 Sportback. The car is built for speed and comfort. In 2015, Fellaini got a bit too comfortable in this car and was caught driving at 81mph in a 40mph zone. This was not once but twice in six minutes. He received a nine-month driving ban for speeding.
Paul Pogba's Brand New Camaro
In August 2016, French midfielder Paul Pogba transferred to Manchester United in a £300,000-a-week five-year deal with the club. He was also immediately given a brand new red Chevrolet Camaro. He must feel like a proper red devil driving in that.
Rio's Grey Continental
Rio Ferdinand joined Man United as a defender back in 2002. He went on to play for the team for a further 12 years and is still regarded as one of the most famous players for the club. Rio’s car collection is almost as legendary as his skills on the pitch as he has purchased a few top tier motors in his time. He owns a Bentley Continental Grey Edition which cost him £120,000 and a Bentley Arnage which he bought for £190,000.
Donald Loves Man U
Donald Love is a defender for Manchester United who was born in Rochdale which is in the Greater Manchester area. He was a student of the Manchester United academy since he was eight years old. It seemed inevitable he would start for the first team and in 2016, aged 21, he finally did. Love doesn’t have as many cars as his teammates, but he does own a white Audi Q7. His football career and car collection are just getting started.
Imagine Phil Jones' Face
Photos of the facial expressions of Man United defender, Phil Jones have become Manchester United fans’ favourite due to the pained and strained faces that he’s pulled in the past. Well, imagine his face and theirs when he spent £130,000 on an Aston Martin V12 Vantage in 2012. This is not Phil’s only car. He also has a white Range Rover and an Audi RS6 to boot.

He earns £80,000 a week and in the past has spent his earnings on an Audi A6 Avant, a BMW X5, a Mercedes SL 55 AMG, an Aston Martin DB9 and a Dodge Viper v10. This is all such a far cry from his first car – a Ford Fiesta Ghia.
Tuanzebe's Growing Car Collection
Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe was born in Bunia in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He’s a talented footballer who also has dual British nationality. His career with Manchester United started at their academy when he was just eight years old. Now Tuanzebe is playing games for the first team and has bought a Mercedes-Benz CLA 180 AMG Sport.
Cameron's Corsa
Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is a defender for the Reds who’s been in their academy since 2006. In 2016 he drove to training in a Vauxhall Corsa, which looked heavily out of place in comparison with his teammate’s expensive motors. Cameron has since replaced the Corsa with a more executive style black Audi.
Morgan's Sold on Minis
Defensive midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has played for United since 2015. He owns a black Porsche Panamera but has also been spotted driving in his shop assistant girlfriend Camille Sold’s cream coloured MINI too. He earns £100,000 a week whilst she is paid just £10-an-hour at her Manchester Adidas store workplace.
Paul Scholes' Car Stolen
Ex-Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes was a legend for the club, who always showed great focus on the pitch. However, this ability seemed to have lapsed when in January 2013 he discovered that his grey Chevrolet Captiva Estate had been stolen. Scholes left it outside with the doors unlocked and the engine running, outside his home, whilst attempting to defrost its windscreen.
Sergio Romero's Ferrari is To Wide To Hide
Sergio Romero is an Argentine professional footballer who has played as a goalkeeper for Manchester United since 2015. Despite being 1.91 m tall Romero is nicknamed ‘Chiquito’ by his family, which is Spanish for small. This is because he’s relatively short compared to his brothers – one of them called Diego is a professional basketball player. Sergio owns a silver Ferrari 458 and in 2016, British police threatened to seize it because they believed it had not been properly registered properly for tax in the UK. The cops attempted to tow the supercar away. However the car proved to be too big for their loader and has remained with the footballer.

Smalling seeks a similar high-performance from his vehicles and he owns a Bentley Continental and a Porsche Cayenne.
Gary Neville Cares

Giggs Suffers from Serial Sports Car Buyer's Hamstring
What many don’t know about Giggs is that in 2003 he was diagnosed with a medical condition called Serial Sports Car Buyer’s Hamstring. It’s a condition caused by driving sportscars which wears away at the hamstring muscle. This was perhaps caused by his devotion to driving his £100,000 Aston Martin DB7 which has top speeds of 186 mph. Or he did it by constantly cruising about in his £65,000 Porsche 911 GT which can pace down roads at a frightening 193mph
Giggs Cherokee To recovery
Giggs says he used to switch from one sports car to another but his condition meant he was forced to abandon his habit. Maybe this why he has also added a Jeep Grand Cherokee to his collection. His Cherokee 4×4 perhaps tempt him less to drive it for such extended periods.
