Technological advancements in the automotive world have trickled along at a comfortable pace for decades. After all, it’s not so long ago that we were pleased if our new car had a decent radio and wasn’t beige.
Electronic ignition, 12 volt electrical systems, automatic gearboxes and fuel-injection all arrived with enough time in between each other for motorists to get to grips with them. The trusty old petrol engine too was left largely unchanged for years.
